“And this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also-not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a good conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ who has gone into heaven and is at God’s right hand-with angels, authorities, and powers in submission to Him”
~ 1 Peter 3:21-22
I am so blessed to be the mom of this sweet little girl…but, what I am most thankful for is that she has decided to trust in Jesus as her savior.
At the tender age of 5 I remember her shouting from the backseat of my car “Mama, I just asked Jesus into my life and into my heart!” I pulled over the car into a vacant school parking lot and turned around just so I could remember the look on her face…those precious rosy cheeks and sparkling hazel eyes. Ahhh!!!! Like it was yesterday…
Two years later she asked if she could be baptized in front of our church family to show her faith outwardly. For a timid little one, this was a grande request! I thought she would wait until she was older to do this…but she was certain….and I’m certain God has very big plans for her.
So….Dec 30th, 2012…my daughter was baptized in the name of The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit.

“Having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised with Him through your faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead” ~Colossians 2:12

She wasn’t the only one baptized on this blessed day…my wonderful Mother-in-Law, my husband’s best friend and his sweet daughter were also. Can you even imagine how exciting this day was to our family?! I’m tearing up again just seeing this photo. Thank you, Jesus!!!!!
My husband and our littlest one anxiously awaiting! I was excited in my own being, but was also so happy for Geoff…. His daughter, mom, best friend and little girl were getting baptized!
And of course, there was a family round up afterwards, lol. There’s Grandma Ruth in the corner {who we all know and love}. My mom lives right across the street from our church, so she offered to hostess if I made the food {score!}. I had to plan a smorgasbord that was quick enough to lay out right after church but still yummy. I prepared everything the night before and took it over to her- it was ready to go! It took about 1 1/2 hours to prepare this spread. It wasn’t fancy- but it worked!
These Ham and Cheese Poppyseed Sliders were a hit! I made them the night before and simply poured the sauce over top before baking. They took 20 mins so I set out some appetizers to munch on while they were in the oven.

Some veggies and dill dip {LOVE Marzetti’s-yes, you may pour the dip out onto the plate and pretend you made it yourself. }. A veggie tray is nice to make ahead and can replace a salad for a lunch gathering. Sometimes salads can seem “less fresh” when you make them in advance.

Cheese and Crackers with mustard…

We also had Lawson’s chip dip and potato chips {a family must at every function}, brownies and cheesecake.
Thanks for letting me share this wonderful day with you! What a way to end 2012!
