This recipe is so easy, a 4 and 6 year old can make it! I am not typically a pineapple lover..but I have to say this recipe is deeeeeelicious! It is one of “those” recipes that if left on the counter, covered, you get a fork..lift the foil… and take a bite before you leave the kitchen…over and over….agh! This is a keeper!
5 Ingredients. 1 box yellow cake mix, 1 21 oz can cherry pie filling, 1 15 oz can crushed pineapple, 8 oz chopped walnuts, 1/2 cup butter. I’m serious…that’s it. |
Pour the cherries and the pineapple in a pan-( I used a throwaway pan because I was cooking for a family on this night.) |
Stir together |
“Dump” dry cake mix over top |
Stir until just combined (you may also leave it just like this-whatever you prefer) |
This is what it looks like just combined |
Add nuts to top |
Ladle on the butta |
Bake for 35-40 mins in a 350 oven |
Dump Cake
1 (21 oz) can cherry pie filling
1 (15 oz) can crushed pineapple
8 oz chopped walnuts
1/2 cup butter
In 9×13 pan mix cherries and pineapple. Sprinkle with dry cake mix over top and stir until just combined. Sprinkle walnuts on top and drizzle with butter. Bake in 350 oven for 35-40 mins.
OHHHH YUMMMMM
Enjoy!

Guuuurrrrrrlllll! You are speaking my language with such a SUPER easy recipe. ..confession…I can multi-task as a teacher and Momma, but baking and cooking need my FULL attention. However, delegating is even better! I think I will pass this one on to the 13 yr. old son and 6 yr. old daughter…that = one HAPPY MOMMA!! LOL
YOU KNOW IT! lol!!! (btw- If I talk and cook at the same time..I burn things- pray for me when I do vlogs! hehe!)
This cake is yummy! I made it for my family when you had posted it awhile back and it is VERY easy to make! Tastes great too! 🙂

Awww…that is so sweet! What a yummy feast you made last night! Keep up the great work serving that family of yours!! Wohoo!
Made this last night for dinner….wonderful! Easy to make and it was a big hit! Thank you for all the wonderful recipes!
You are welcome! It is yummy!
Dump cake is just that… everything gets dumped in. No stirring…no mixing, just dump.
The most work is carefully making sure to dump the dry cake mixture all across the top of the pineapples and cherries. But dump cake is definitely made to be dumped, not mixed together like that…
Mercy- I have actually tried it just “dumped” and I don’t like how the cake doesn’t fully get moist. It actually burns a little and is powdery. Have you tried it that way?
It’s a pity you don’t have a donate button! I’d most certainly donate to this superb blog!
