Marinated chicken breasts topped with sautéed onions and melted cheese, what’s not to love? Serve with mashed potatoes, corn and a dinner salad and you have yourself a winner, winner chicken dinner!
*By golly-it’s naturally gluten-free too {make sure to check cheese, seasoned salt and dressing marinade}.
- 6 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1-2 cups Italian dressing
- Seasoned salt/pepper
- 1 onion sliced
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 6 slices of cheese {your choice, I had American on hand}.
- Marinate chicken in Italian dressing for at least an hour {preferably 3-4 hours}.
- Place chicken on greased broiling pan or foil lined pan.Sprinkle with seasoned salt and pepper.
- Broil on low for 10 mins per side, 20 mins total. Cooking time will depend on how thick your chicken is.
- In a small skillet, on medium high heat, sauté onions for 3-4 mins in olive oil.
- Place sautéd onions on top of each chicken breast- top with a slice of cheese.
- Put chicken back under the broiler for 1 min until cheese is melted.
