1. Identify the label as a lie meant to tear me down.

2. I chose to view this circumstance as a call to action, not a call to beat myself up mentally.

3. I used the momentum of tackling one label to help me tackle more.

Labels in the Bible: 

Peter had a TEMPER- Yet, he allowed Christ to mold and shape him. 
David had an AFFAIR- Yet, he was a man after God’s own heart. 
Noah got DRUNK- Yet, God made a covenant with him and he was faithful.
Saul (Paul) was a MURDERER and hated Jesus and his disciples- Yet, Jesus showed himself to him after his death and gave Paul the gospel to preach to the Jews and Gentiles. (Romans 1:16)
Thomas was a DOUBTER- Yet, he was quick to repent and have great faith. 
Moses STUTTERED- Yet, God told him the 10 commandments. 

Common labels we can give ourselves:

Fat, ugly, dumb, a mistake, drunk, adulteress, unforgiveable, terrible cook, old, not interesting, anti-social, can’t keep or make friends, divorcee, single-mom, moody, prideful, jealous, etc.

What I want you to say to yourselves (write it down):

Just because I am ___________, doesn’t mean that I am _____________.

For Example:

Just because I have had a failed marriage doesn’t mean that I am a failure.
Just because dinner didn’t turn out doesn’t mean that I am a bad cook.
Just because I envied her home doesn’t mean that I am not thankful for what I have.
Just because I failed at nursing my child doesn’t mean that I am a bad mom.

The label Christ wants you to wear:

GRACE

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.”  Ephesians 2:8

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things.” Philippians 4:8
