I will have to try the lemon juice. I've never heard of that!!
You would think it would give the meatloaf a lemony flavor..but it doesn't..it mellows out the meaty flavor..this is some seriously good meatloaf! Very moist!
I will try usual I cook my meatloaf in a pot and make a juice with. I will try this week with the ketchup (sure my son will love is fan of ketchup!!!)
Have a nice weekend.
Blessings from France
Thanks Suzel! your way sounds delicious too..oh yum!! I would like to go to a pot luck with you!! I may just have to come out to France!
Mmmmm…looks so yummy! We like meatloaf here! And that picture of Julia is ADORABLE! I love her and her BIG personality! She cracks me up!
Courtney
Regular breadcrumbs or seasoned/italian breadcrumbs? And what's that yummy-looking side dish????
Sharey- I use regular breadcrumbs ..and I am laughing out loud right now because the side dish was SOO yummy, but it was left over jalapeno scalloped potatoes from Flemmings..my husband and I ate there for his birthday dinner the night before and had a ton leftover…and I do not like to waste leftovers! haha. I WAS CAUGHT! I do have my own recipe/photos on file for this that I could post. MMMmm!
I am really enjoying your blog. I am not comfy in my kitchen but really want to be. I am trying this recipe tonight!
Thanks Dani! You will LOVE this meatloaf! Enjoy!!!
This sounds so good! I haven't had a good meatloaf in ages. Now I know what is for dinner tomorrow night. What a sweet picture. Thanks for sharing it.
Enjoy it Stefanie!!
Janelle:
It was really good! I was afraid I had messed it up by using the really lean ground beef, but it was still moist. Thanks for posting all the beautiful pictures to help those of us who aren't "comfy" in the kitchen!
Sandi, so glad you liked it and you are sooooo welcome! Thanks for the update my Friend!!!!
Your blog is new to me and I'm already planning to try most of the first few recipes I've read. It all looks great! Glad I found you 😀

Bless your heart Michelle! I hope you enjoy the recipes! Nice to have you as my guest 🙂
Looks delicious! Does it call for any salt or does the onion make it tasty enough?
Hey Janelle-just wanted to drop a line and let you know what an amazing inspiration your blog is for me. Every SINGLE time I stop over, I am inspired to be a better mother, cook, homekeeper, and mostly, better wife. I found you from the Women Living Well blog, also loving that one so much, but I had to come over and leave a comment.
I have never made a meatloaf my ENTIRE life. No joke. My family is not American, so we didn't really grow up with the typical American fare, but I am curious how this is. I"m going to give it a try and let you know how it goes!
Keep up the amazing blogging, you make us noobs out here better at everything. PS-SO going to try out your mac and cheese recipe as well. I"m a fanatic for mac & cheese and yours looks super easy to whip up.
Oh Ammie, what did I do to deserve such loving/encouraging words…thank you so much. Love, Janelle
I love your marvelous meatloaf… My whole family does. I am making it tonight and when my daughter saw she quickly asked if that was the meatloaf with the good sauce…YES it is!!!
Thank you for those kind words Stephanie! I am SO happy to hear your family is enjoying the recipe…as you know the key ingredient: A mom willing to serve her family 🙂 Love to you!
Hi Janelle,
Thanks so much for your wonderful blog! I am a new bride and after being a single girl for many years, eating cereal for dinner most nights, I am now venturing into the kitchen! 🙂 Your blog is a big help! I’ve got my shopping list ready! I’m going to start with your meatloaf and crescent chicken! Thanks so much!
That is great news!!!! Congratulations on your marriage and your willingness to start serving! Wohoo!!!
I love this meatloaf! It is so good. I live in Arizona since it is in the 90’s, I made meatloaf in cupcake shape and cooked them for 20 minutes.
Ok, I’m gonna cook this tomorrow for dinner! Told ya on WLW’s latest post that I was gonna hit up your blog. Since I’m on a 2 week hiatus from work at the moment (between jobs) I’ve been cooking dinner for the family. This is new (me cooking) My son says to me today as I was prepping dinner (Sesame chicken in the crockpot), why are you cooking? I said because it’s what mothers are supposed to do.
See, before my husband would be the main meal preparer. Now that I’m home for the time being, I’M doing it! Our son LOVES meatloaf but hubby would just buy the pre made stuff in the frozen food aisle at Walmart. Nope, not this week!! I’d like to try Courtney’s Hawaiian meatloaf recipe but I don’t think my son would like it with the pineapples…so we’ll try yours first! I’ll let you know how it’s received!
Well, my husband LOVED the meatloaf. but my son, not so much >.< I think it's pretty dang good! I'm not a cook but as my late Grandma Farley would say, if you can read, you can cook 😉
