Chips and Dip!

Carrot Chips and Dip that is!
I have found another healthy product that my children will eat! Carrot Chips! If you have snackers in your house, like I do…try swapping the traditional “chips and dip” with this idea. I tried the fat free Marzetti dip..if the texture of “fat free” does not appeal to you, they do have a “low fat” version that doesn’t taste much different than the original!
                    Much Love to you!

Good idea! I'm having a book party Saturday and as I was making my list of foods to make, they all sounded SO fatty!! I think I am going to go in the opposite direction with a veggie tray and a huge fruit spread! Kind of odd for this time of year, but with the frozen fruits, hopefully they'll be yummy!! ~Leigha

Sounds great Leigha!~Kudos for going healthy!!! I think I may make a low fat version of this recipe for the blog..just using reduced fat sour cream, etc This would go well with your party too if you are up for it!

Mmmm! I'm making the fruit pizza= Individual sugar cookies, low fat cream cheese and fruit. I'm going to make this too for the veggie lovers!! 🙂 Thanks!! ~Leigha

Thats a great idea for the kids. We have stopped all breakfast bar snacks and fruit snacks. And I am coming short on snacks, so this one is great. We traded fruit snacks for fruit leathers and they are yummy. I also traded breakfast bars for nuts {peanuts, almonds etc}. But I need more kid-friendly snack ideas. Thanks for your tips!!

I like to add ranch mix to fat free sour cream but I saw an alton brown video where he turned regular yogurt into ranch greek yogurt dip… You're adventurous so you might try making your own but I was thinking you could buy plain fat free greek yogurt and mix in ranch mix too! Just a thought! 🙂

Holly- LOVE it! I make that dip with potato chips…ugh, lol. Yes, greek yogurt would work great….and has awesome health benefits for digestion!!!!! Double whamy! Thanks Holly!! Love, Janelle

  8. Have you ever done any research on eating fats? Fats are actually good for you. And when I say, 'fats' I mean whole milk, butter, whole sour cream, whole buttermilk, full fat cheeses ect. God didn't make low fat cows! 😉

Seriously though, it's worth looking in to. Here is a good post to start:

Love your site btw! 🙂 I just wanted to share a little info!

HI Crystal! Thanks for thinking of me…I have actually done some research on fats! Wohoo! I am not a dietician though..but the topic always interests me. I am a butter cooking, heavy cream whipping, sugar sprinkling kind of gal.. In moderation that is…Hydrogenated oils are the worst..I recently read some books written by the controversial author Kevin Trudeau, very interesting stuff…makes ya think. He talks about the hormones in milk and the effects they are having in our margarine is just awful, etc.He recommends butter, and the fats you mentioned above.
Thank you for the site, I will have to take a look!
This particular dip did not make me cringe when I looked at the ingredients..low sugars, no "bad" fats, low in seemed okay to me. Some low fat foods have tons of sugar added to them and I know they are not worth it.
    Thanks again! ~Janelle
