Broccoli Cheese Casserole


What is there not to like about this cheesy, hearty and flavorful side dish? It has been a staple at many-a-potlucks in my family. Enjoy!


Prepare rice, and mix together with cheese whiz, sautéed onions and celery, cream of chicken soup {you may replace with 1/2 cup chicken broth and 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream for gluten-free cooking}, milk and steamed broccoli.


Mix all together and bake in a 350 oven for 45 mins until hot and bubbling!

Cook time: 45 mins
Total time: 1 hour 5 mins
Serves: 6
Ingredients
  • 1 8 oz jar Cheese Whiz
  • 1 10 oz can cream of chicken soup {or 1/2 cup chicken broth and 1/2 cup heaving whipping cream for a gluten-free option}
  • 1 head steamed broccoli {chopped}
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1/2 cup diced onions
  • 1/4 cup chopped celery
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • salt/pepper to taste
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. Grease a 9×13 pan.
  3. Sautee onions and celery in butter.
  4. Mix all ingredients together and bake for 45 mins until bubbly. Delicious!
