Greek Chicken Gyro on Rice with Homemade Tzatziki

This is my husband’s and my newest favorite dinner….It’s healthy, gluten-free, and tastes {almost} just like a gyro!!! The homemade Tzatziki sauce, made with greek yogurt, makes this delicious dish.  Mmmmm…..lovin this.  How to make the sauce: Scrape the seeds out of 2 English cucumbers. Add dill weed, the juice of one lemon, sea salt, and fresh ground pepper.

Press in your garlic…

Process well..

Pour cucumber mixture in a bowl and add Greek yogurt.

Stir well and refrigerate.

Chop veggies, saute chicken, and prepare brown rice according to package directions.

Add rice into individual dinner bowls, top with chicken, veggies, and sauce. Mmmmm…SO good!

  2. If only I wasn’t on a dairy free diet right now! I’m pinning this for next year (when I stop nursing and go back to eating dairy!).

  3. Just had a gyro at a Greek restaurant a couple weeks ago. Loved it and glad to see a recipe where I can make it at home!!

  4. This was crazy delicious! I had a ton of sauce left, though, so next time I will halve the recipe. Can’t wait to make it again! Thanks for sharing!

  5. This recipe is spectacular!
I had originally intended to make this for myself for lunches this week – as a bit of an experiment. But my husband came home from work early while I was cooking and smelled me cooking the marinated chicken. He first asked if I was making some gourmet recipe and then asked if he could have some, too. LOL. His verdict is that this is going on our monthly menu rotation! 😀
    Thank you!

  6. This recipe looks fantastic! Can’t wait to try!!

  7. I noticed it said to marinate the chicken but….it didn’t say what to marinate it with?
If any knows please let me know thanks.
