Orange-Infused Water

When my husband and I crept away for a weekend a few years ago, we stayed at a Westin hotel. Served in the lobby area was a huge drum of ice water infused with fresh oranges. Every time I passed it, I could not resist refilling my cup.

Because I try my hardest not to drink many calories (because I prefer to eat them, lol) This is something I do at home. I happily drink plenty of water daily and get a little vitamin C to boot. My children also like it!

You can be as creative as you wish with your fruit choice… Try cucumbers, melons, lemons, etc. It’s a great way to please guests and not break your pocket book.

Enjoy!

slice 1 orange and fill up the rest of a container with water and ice. Let soak for a minimum of 2 hours. You may keep this refrigerated and drink at your leisure.

SO refreshing on a warm Summer day.

    Sounds great!. I’m thirsty, Now!

  4. At the hotel we were at they had this too. And they would switch it up with strawberries. Not sure if they had anything else, but I remember oranges one and and strawberries the next. Looked beautiful!! This would be beautiful in a punch bowl or one of those glass fountains at a party since so many people drink water nowadays.

  5. I love a combination of lemon and cucumber slices. Very refreshing! I am going to try the orange slices now. Thanks for the suggestion!

  6. Can’t wait to try this!

Question..I got this idea at a hotel, as well, and when I tried at home with a pitcher of water, there were tons of ‘floaties’ and seeds in the water. Any ideas to avoid this? Thanks so much!

    • If you are not a pulp lover, I suggest that you juice your oranges and pour the juice into the water. You could also add a peel to enhance the flavor! If it’s just a seed thing…then simply take the seeds out before placing the orange slices in water.
