My mother always put vinegar and sugar in her slaw. I never have been able to tolerate those two ingredients in my slaw. Just mayo, salt, and pepper or seasoning salt is all I like. She also put sugar in all her veggies when she cooked them. Not for me. If I eat sugar let it be in dessert. Hahahaha!!!
Yum! I am writing this down to try the next time I make slaw. Will probably have to put celery seed in it. It must be psychological for me that it doesn’t seem like coleslaw. Plus, I somehow have 3 bottles of it right now so this will help me get rid of some! 😉
I can’t wait to try this. I love sweet, tangy, and creamy coleslaw. I’ve never used onion in cole slaw, but I bet it will be yummy.
Your Grandma’s Coleslaw sounds delicious – my late Mom always put vinegar in her coleslaw too. I like that this version is made in the food processor, and also the addition of the milk.
